We will explore activity-based projects through play-based methods forming solid learning foundations. Nature provides a perfect place to nurture the whole child; academics, social/emotional skills, physical and developmental growth.
Our preschool classes are half day. We recognize that younger children have a limited attention span to learn. So we will concentrate on sensory learning through hands-on nature based lessons. Healthy snacks will be supplied.
Children will learn to explore when they are given the opportunities to do so and not given a reason why they cannot.
3/4 year olds
A full change of clothes will need to come with the child EVERY day they are at the farm.

Kinder "gardeners"

We offer a nature based, age appropriate learning environment where the children learn through the practice of doing. Hands-on activities in the outdoor setting encompassing reading, writing, math, science, history, geography, social studies, music and animal care. Gardening will be front and center in art, creativity and life skills. Healthy snacks will be supplied.
This is a half day program for 3 days with the option of the 4th day for those enrolled in the 3 day program.

A child should dig, get dirty and explore before ever picking up a pencil. At Focus we encourage both. Your children will experience hands on academics by engaging in nature lessons. They will awaken their senses while they learn reading, math, language arts, geography, history, science, social studies, health, life skills and art through farm tasks and free exploration. Healthy snacks will be provided. We will also have the kids bring a lunch so the kids have the ability to build a social community.
1st / 2nd grade
We focus on integrated learning incorporating multiple subjects at the same time with a hands-on process. We will implement discussion, demonstration and cooperation with the academics to reinforce their learning foundation and build connections though nature-based lessons and exploration on the farm.

3rd grade supplemental
Learning in nature supports mental well being, enforces creativity and provides ample access for physical growth. This is a whole child approach to academics. The farm experiences allow for whole child development to well round them. This class is to supplement the learning they receive at home. Students 8+ must follow Washington State HBI laws.
